Why choose us for Facial Gua Sha

If your face feels puffy, tense or tired, Facial Gua Sha works on both how your face looks and how it feels. We use gentle traditional Chinese Gua Sha techniques across the face, jaw and neck to release tension, support circulation and create a fresher, more sculpted appearance.

  • Authentic Chinese Gua Sha. Experience Gua Sha as a traditional Chinese treatment, not simply a beauty trend.

  • Tailored to your face. We adapt the pressure, strokes and areas we focus on around puffiness, facial tension and the contours you want to work on.

  • Gentle & non-invasive. Facial Gua Sha uses light, controlled pressure with facial oil to work with the delicate tissues of the face.

  • Integrated TCM care. Facial Gua Sha can be combined with facial acupuncture, lymphatic drainage massage, massage or other TCM treatments as part of a wider wellbeing and beauty approach.

meditation taichi facial gua sha customer review

"The past few days for some reason my face was swollen, so puffy which is unlike me. I decided to finally try gua sha to 'drain the puff.' Well it drained the puff but more importantly, my chin has had dramatic difference! In just 2 sessions! I almost didn’t believe it and thought I might be imagining it. Sent it to 2 people with no context just 'before and after guess what I did' They were both like 'omg! Such a difference!'"

What Is Facial Gua Sha?

Gua Sha (pronounced gwa-shah) is a traditional Chinese technique that uses a smooth-edged tool to massage the skin and underlying tissues. For Facial Gua Sha, your practitioner applies facial oil and uses gentle, controlled strokes across areas such as the neck, jawline, cheeks, under-eye area and forehead.

The movements work through facial tension while encouraging circulation and fluid movement. The result is a treatment that can leave your face feeling more relaxed and looking less puffy, more defined and refreshed.

Facial Gua Sha is much gentler than traditional body Gua Sha. It is not intended to create the dark red or purple marks sometimes associated with body Gua Sha.

What Can Facial Gua Sha Help With?

Sculpting & Appearance

Facial contour · Jawline definition · Tired-looking skin · Natural glow

Puffiness & Circulation

Facial puffiness · Under-eye puffiness · Fluid retention · Circulation

Facial Tension & Relaxation

Jaw tension · Clenching · Tight facial muscles · Stress held in the face

Ideal for: People who wake up feeling puffy, hold tension in their jaw or face, spend long hours at a screen, or want a gentle, natural facial treatment for sculpting and relaxation.

What to Expect

  1. Choose Your Focus

You may tell your practitioner what you would like to work on, such as puffiness, jaw tension, facial tightness or sculpting, and check any relevant skin sensitivity.

  1. Facial Oil & Gua Sha

A facial oil is applied to help the Gua Sha tool glide comfortably across the skin. Your practitioner then uses light, controlled strokes around the neck, jawline, cheeks, under-eye area, forehead and other areas according to your needs.

  1. Sculpt, Release & Relax

Different strokes are used to work through facial tension, encourage circulation and fluid movement, and contour areas such as the cheeks and jawline. The treatment should feel gentle and relaxing rather than painful.

Combine With Other Treatments

Facial Gua Sha can be enjoyed on its own or combined with other treatments.

Pair it with Lymphatic Drainage Massage for a face-and-body sculpting session, Facial Acupuncture for a more comprehensive facial treatment, or massage and other TCM therapies for deeper relaxation and whole-body care.
